Meet Our President
Kolawole PRAISEWORTH, FOSSN,
Kolawole Praiseworth is a graduate of the prestigious Lincoln University, San Francisco, USA. Having served his fatherland in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 1983 to 1984, he then sojourned into the corporate world where he worked as Management Consultant to AIDCON in Kano Nigeria between 1985 -1988.
His Occupational Health and Safety career began in 1992 as a Safety Consultant on road traffic safety education to the Port Harcourt Refinery Alesa Eleme in Rivers State, Nigeria.
Between the years 2002 to 2004, he was engaged under Alliance Petroleum Services Company Limited as Health and Safety Consultant to Saipem Contracting and Saipem Drilling. In this capacity, he was responsible for facilitating training programs in many locations including SCRABEO 7 – a deep offshore drilling platform – which was one of Saipem’s major operations at the time. Within this period, Rev. Kola (as he is fondly referred on site), was concurrently engaged by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) to facilitate HSE training for hundreds of SPDC/SLE staff and Contractor personnel in SHELL industrial area Port Harcourt.
Given his profound wealth of experience, Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited (SCNL) engaged him, yet again, in 2005 as HSE Training Consultant to facilitate in-house training of all personnel on board SOKU De-bottlenecking Gas plant Project in Bayelsa Swamp. In 2007, SCNL won the contract for SPDC Gbaran pipeline project and engaged him as the HSE Training Consultant where he also seamlessly facilitated HSE Training to both client and contractor personnel, between 2007 and 2009. In the interim he was engaged by Daewoo E&C as HSE Training Consultant on the Multi-million dollar Afam VI power plant project in Rivers State.
A new phase of his career was set in motion in 2010 when TOTAL EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION NIGERIA employed him as HSE Training coordinator on five (5) simultaneous projects in Rivers State. These projects include: OML 58 Flow Station Upgrade Project; Obite Gas Plant Upgrade Project; Field Logistics Base (FLB) Green Field Project; Obite-Ubeta-Rumuji (OUR) Pipeline Project; and Northern Option Pipeline Project (NOPL). All of these projects were completed successfully in 2016.
Undeniably, his formidable track records on the field is unparalleled and, pointedly, it is against this background that we at OSSN believe that his leadership will be impeccable in promoting and attaining the overall vision of the Society.
He has travelled across the globe and a member of several notable professional bodies in the United Kingdom and Canada.
